3 estates system: Describe the inequity of the 3 estates system aka "The Old Regime" (sept.22,2010)

First estate (3%) was made up of the clergy, and the church officials (priests/bishops/nuns/monks). Were the richest and had the most money and didn't have to pay taxes.
The Second estate (3%) was made up of the nobles. Had to be born into it. Nobles aren't rich! They don't work and get all their money from taxes.
The Third estate ( 97% of population) contained the peasants and everyone else. Had to pay taxes. Bussiness owners. merchants.
You can move up in estates by becmoing part of the church by bringing people to the church. Being ordaned. You need to study to go to school an it cost money so you can't go to school unless you pay for it. Made it expensive on purpose so other estates can't move up.
Each estate only gets one vote so their not all heard.
Third Estate does not equal all poor.
The French Revolution was very violent and the people weren't bothered of it, they loved it. They chopped off people's heads in the middle of the city in front of everyone. People cheered so they wouldn't get killed.
Poor people were starved, rich people in third estate when poor started to starve saw oppertunity, and they had numbers ( more people ) and the rich people are mad because they don't have power and the first estate wouldn't let them have power. The rich third estate started to get poor rilled up and started to get revenge.
Napolean Bonnepar (wasn't really important during the beginning, then gained the title " emperor of the world "

How the French Revolution Began

The French Revolution began with the Third Estates poor people not being able to buy food because of the increase on the price of food. The First estate also had most of the votes so no one could move up in power. The Third estates more wealthy people saw this as an oppertunity and decided to go against the first estate and attack them, and they got all of the third estate to help because they were angry about not getting food and money, and then wealthy people wanted to gain more power.
